Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Rebecca Otten is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist with 16 years of experience. She has worked with a variety of patients with many different concerns and in a variety of settings, including homes, group homes, schools, private office, etc.
I am very pragmatic in my approach as a practicing therapist. I enjoy assisting practitioners in training to find their voice as a therapist. I see therapy as collaborative experience and the relationship as team members working towards a goal. I often utilize humor with my patients and maintain a down to earth style of treatment. It is important to me that when someone is in treatment they feel comfortable, secure and safe in the environment to promote healing.
I am often direct, however I am non-judgmental and am transparent. I do believe that in therapy you get out of it what you invest in it, so if you are not receiving any benefits than it would be wise to examine what you have invested. Therapy is work, so it is important to put new found knowledge into action to truly benefit from all that psychotherapy offers. I have received specialized training in art therapy, autism, and 0-5 population. I have experience in working with children, adults, families, couples, and groups.
